Ellen and Portia DeGeneres: Late Show Lovers
Looking oh-so-happy together per the usual, Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi were spotted in New York City on Tuesday (September 7). The comedic TV show host and her “Arrested Development” wife held hands and smiled for press outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre ahead of Ellen’s Top Ten appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman.” Shortly after her visit with Dave, Ellen headed over to New York’s Broadway Theatre for a surprise cameo as a nurse in the musical revival of “Promises, Promises.” DeGeneres will air the footage from the Broadway show on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” next Wednesday, following the series’ season-eight premiere on Monday. So many changes — and obviously Simon Cowell is commenting! Simon opened up about Ellen DeGeneres , his former co-judge on American Idol , saying: “As I got to know Ellen, I grew to really, really like her. I have huge respect for her because she’s always been in control of her own destiny.” True! UGH! Christian Newswire director Gary McCullough issued a press release today blaming the ratings decline of American Idol on Ellen DeGeneres being a judge! He says : “I am confident that the producers of American Idol will be shocked when their market share has cratered, and will in all honesty find a dozen other reasons for the drop in ratings. After all, what successful television producer could have a clue what wholesomeness is as long as they see promoting homosexuality as a virtue . “Network television producers may or may not stop promoting homosexuality; but for certain they will learn to keep homosexual activism separate from the cash-cow of family entertainment.’” Puh-leez!
